Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Jay Soriano - July 2017

Welcome to the latest Crazy Crafters Blog Hop, featuring the talented Jay Soriano as our special guest.  Jay Soriano's blog "Mitosu Crafts" is based in the UK, but is very popular with crafters world-wide.

For those of you who are new to our Crazy Crafters Blog hop, we host a special guest each month whom we select one card or creation to CASE (copy & selectively edit).  To view all the creations on offer, be sure to visit all the blog participants listed at the end of this post - I'm sure you'll be inspired by all of the great ideas!

This month I have chosen Jay's "Wood Words" Card:

I liked the simplicity of Jay's card, and the stamped patterned background image, layered with textured ribbon and trim, with another stamped image on top.  Using the "Hello Friend" stamp set, this was my take on Jay's card:

Using a Very Vanilla cardstock base, I layered Lemon Lime Twist and Island Indigo.  I love the elegant background stamp in the Hello Friends set, and embossed this using Copper heat emboss powder.  Burlap ribbon was then adhered horizontally across the card front, and a rectangle piece of Very Vanilla placed on top for the "hello" to be adhered to.  I stamped "hello" (from the same stamp set) onto very vanilla cardstock and fussy cut this out, then gently applied versamark straight from the ink pad onto the top part of my cut-out, before applying copper heat embossing powder to create the top embossed part. This was something I had seen done in the latest Stampin' Up! catalogue and I loved the effect.  Lastly I stamped some Lemon Lime Twist & Island Indigo flowers and layered these on the top right corner of my wording panel.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look at my card creation - please feel free to leave a comment if you liked it.  You are currently on Seeds of Thoughtfulness with Lorin Goodchild - please click on the next person in the list to view the other awesome creations our creative team have come up with!
