Beautiful You

Hi Crafters!

Today I am sharing a card I created a few days ago using the stunning Beautiful You stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue (page 24).

After perusing pinterest for ages and seeing very similar designs using this set, I was left wanting to create something unique and different whilst at the same time making the stamp set "pop" and be a focal point.  This is what I came up with...

This shabby chic card was the end result, and the dancing lady and sentiment from the Beautiful You stamp set compliment it perfectly.

For the card base I used Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride & Very Vanilla A4 Cardstock, and created a vintage look by distressing the edges of the top two layers.  To further the vintage look, I daubered Sahara Sand around the Very Vanilla card edges.

Using the Layering Squares framelit the inner part of the card's top layer was cut out to reveal the sentiment that was embossed in gold underneath. Going back to the card top, I daubered in Soft Sky around the top left part of the square cutout and then glued over a lacy doilie that had been cut to fit around the square. The filigree stamp from the versatile Timeless Textures stamp set was added in Crumb Cake to add to the card background, and the blushing bride layered ribbon (retired) was also used.

The dancing lady was coloured in using watercolor pencils and then blended using an aqua painter, before being fussy cut and attached onto the card.

This card did take awhile to make as there were quite a few elements to it, but I love the overall look when it was completed.
